The current eruption of Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii's Big Island is creating a lot of interest in the media and on social networking sites. This summer is producing some of the most epic lava seen since 1955. So where are the best sites for information and photos of the ongoing event? From there you can view current maps, videos, image galleries or the current photo chronology of the May 2018 eruption.
The last 10 days or so are shown on this page. To go back further click on the Photo & Video Chronology page link and search by date to see the beginning of this eruptive event (or any other event photos). Start around April 15, 2018 to see how the lava lake at Kilauea Volcano's summit overflowed onto the floor of Halema'uma'u, then collapsed, indicating that something was changing with the volcano.

Demian has produced some of the most iconic images of this eruption, like the one above. He also has the best up to the minute video on his instagram feed, however, due to apparent copying without attribution he is now overlaying all the video with big copyright images which kind of detract from the experience. Still, if you want to know what's going on. This guy has it.
